Endometriosis websites and organisations

EndoEmpowered: Endometriosis sufferer and naturopath Melissa Turner has extensively explored healing for endometriosis, and has created a program that helps ‘empower women to stop feeling like a victim to their endometriosis and find empowering ways to live pain and symptom free’.

Jean Hailes for Women’s Health says ‘Naturopathic treatments including nutrition and dietary changes, botanical medicine, and supplementation have been shown to provide relief for endometriosis symptoms.’

The Australian Coalition for Endometriosis (ACE) is a peak consumer and advocacy body representing the needs of women and girls with Endo in Australia. ACE aims to provide strategic direction and leadership to improve the outcome, treatment and support for women with Endo.

EndoActive’s mission is Awareness, Information and Advocacy for women and girls living with Endometriosis.

Endometriosis Association Queensland Inc – QENDO supports anyone affected by endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, infertility or pelvic pain, by offering them tools, services and programs to understand and take control of their health.

Endometriosis Australia  endeavours to increase recognition of endometriosis, provide endometriosis education programs, and help fund endometriosis research. Support groups around Australia and online, including for adenomyosis.

The Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia is a not-for-profit organisation formed to build a healthier and more productive community by improving the quality of life of people with pelvic pain, including young women with dysmennorhoea. Lots of useful resources.

MENSTRUAL AND MENOPAUSAL POLICY

The Victorian Women’s Trust trialled a Menstruation Policy for their workplace in 2015. A year later  it was fine-tuned and permanently implemented, when it was found to support greater productivity and a happier work environment. Media attention around their menstrual workplace policy attracted an audience of over 6.2 million people to May 2021. An digital manual covering this process, guidelines for workplaces wanting to implement their own, and an overview of workplace policy around the world, is due to be released later in 2021.
